To manually close garage door from inside, locate the emergency release cord typically hanging from the center rail of the garage door opener. Pull the cord down firmly to disengage the opener, allowing you to manually lift and close the door.
From outside, if you have access to the garage, you can use the same emergency release cord to disengage the opener and then lift and close the door manually. However, if you're locked out, you might need a different approach. Some garage doors have an exterior key lock near the bottom of one of the tracks. Insert the key and turn it to release the door from the opener, then manually push it closed.
